Priory Scholars of NYC Spring 2015 Meeting
I am pleased to let you know that our spring semester will take place on:
May 2, 2015 – 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Class will convene at: THE CHURCHILL TAVERN, 45 East 28th Street, New York, NY 10016.
The restaurant is located between Madison and Park Avenues, around the corner from the 28th Street subway station for the 4 & 6 trains. The brunch menu will be same as before.
We would like to remind students that while we have a reasonably large dining room we will still need to let the restaurant know how many students to expect. As the room seats approximately 40 people comfortably it is a good idea to register early. So please confirm your enrolment via email to Judithfirstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 10, 2015.
* Please note that we have made a change regarding prepayment – if you wish to pay by check please send your check for $35.00 to Christopher Zordan, 184 Blew Court, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. (again by April 10th) or you can pay cash at the door.
Once again we will have another mind boggling quiz prepared by Raj Pandravada and Prof. Nick Martorelli will lead another insightful discussion.
Taking into consideration that Spring is the season of rejuvenation our study assignment is “The Adventure of the Creeping Man.” Please consider the following:
- Watson’s attitude at the beginning of this story is rather terse, almost hostile. What could be going on?
- This story has as many horror elements as mystery elements. Is this, in fact, a horror story, or something other than a detective story?
- Do we accept Holmes’ explanation for why the Professor ends up at his daughter’s window?
In addition there will be toasts, a rousing rendition of our school song and more.
Judith Freeman, Headmistress
